NEW ORLEANS, LA- In a repeat of last year's conference tournament match up, the No. 3 Generals and No.4 Gold Rush met up once again for 2023 Red River Athletic Conference championship title match.
 
In a match that was battled out to the finish between the two nationally ranked teams, it was Xavier who came out with the 4-2 win over the Generals. Results are as followed:

No. 1 — Olivia Scattini/Annemart Kleijn (LSUA) vs. Mbali Langa/Valentina Largacha (XULA), did not finish . . . tied at 5.
No. 2 — Kareemah Muhammad/Valaine Clarke (XULA) d. Candela Bonivardi/Patricia Martinez Molina (LSUA) 6-4.
No. 3 — Tianna Dixon/McKenna Wheatley (XULA) d. Alicia Romero Gomez/Maria Alvarez (LSUA) 6-4.
 
Singles
No. 1 — Candela Bonivardi (LSUA) d. Kareemah Muhammad (XULA) 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
No. 2 — Mbali Langa (XULA) d. Alicia Romero Gomez (LSUA) 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
No. 3 — Olivia Scattini (LSUA) d. Tianna Dixon (XULA) 1-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1.
No. 4 — Annemart Kleijn (LSUA) vs. Valaine Clarke (XULA), did not finish . . . Clarke (XULA) led 7-5, 4-6, 4-3.
No. 5 — Valentina Largacha (XULA) d. Maria Alvarez (LSUA) 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4).
No. 6 — McKenna Wheatley (XULA) d. Patricia Martinez Molina (LSUA) 6-2, 6-3.
 
As the Generals took Red River Athletic Conference Runner up, both Candela Bonivardi and Olivia Scattini were named All-Tournament team for their performances throughout the weekend. 
 
However, the work in not done as the Generals will now prepare to make a run in the National Tournament in the race for the red banner.
