ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team fell to the University of Houston-Victoria, 1-0, in a Red River Athletic Conference match.

Mark Hammond said. "I can't fault the second half effort. I think it was harsh the goal was chalked off. It's one of those things we just have to take it on the chin."
The Generals (5-5-2, 4-2-2 RRAC) finished with 11 shots, eight of which were on goal. The Jaguars (9-2-0, 6-2-0 RRAC) tallied seven shots, three on goal.
Victoria Weber made two stops in goal.
The game's lone goal came in the third minute from Kylee -Kolos. Estelle Flanagan played a ball over the top for Spree-Kolos, who buried her chance for the 1-0 lead.
Hille Baumfalk tested the Jaguars' keeper in the 21
st minute, forcing a save. Sofia Jimeno Nogue was next in the 26
th minute, again the keeper stymied the chance.
Weber made her first save in the 33
rd minute to keep it a 1-0 game.
Om the second half,
Sacha Backus' chance in the 56
th minute was turned away. She had another chance in the 61
st minute with the same result. Immediately following her chance,
Ksenija Pavlovic tried to put home the rebound, but was denied.
Pavlovic's 67
th minute chance was kept out, as the Generals continued to mount offensive pressure.
Ellen Meijer and
Shealbie Whatley each had a chance in the final five minutes and were turned away. Whatley's effort came in the 89
th minute on a header off a corner from Backus.
The Generals are back at home on Saturday, October 19, as they host Hutson-Tillotson University for Senior Day at 1:00 PM.
