ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer sent their seniors off with a victory in their final home game of the season with a 6-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson University.

Mark Hammond said. Firstly, we played well and scored some good goals. It's a great way to send off the seniors. We got the job done early to make sure we can enjoy the rest of our day. All these seniors have put blood, sweat, and tears into the program, so I'm glad we sent them out the right way."
The Generals (6-5-2, 5-2-2 RRAC) scored four second half goals on the way to the win. LSUA finished with fifteen shots, nine of which were on goal. They held the Rams (2-8-1, 1-6-1 RRAC) to just two shots.
Ellen Meijer opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the season in the 12
th minute.
Sacha Backus sent in a corner that rattled around the box before Meijer sent it home for a 1-0 lead.
Fenja Leibner was next on the score sheet. She headed in a free kick from Backus for her second goal of the season. Leibner added a second goal in the 75
th minute, burying a free kick.
Sofia Jimeno Nogué scored back-to-back goals in the 61
st and 68
th minutes. The first came on a penalty, while the second came on an assist from
Sarah Nalley.
The Generals final goal came from
Ksenija Pavlovic in the 77
th minute.
Elke Tijink slipped a through ball past the back line to Pavlovic who beat the keeper with a low shot.
LSUA is on the road for the final four games of the season, starting with Our Lady of the Lake on Thursday, October 24. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
