ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team is back at home for a four-game Red River Athletic Conference homestand. The first two games coming this week against LSU Shreveport and Texas A&M-Texarkana.
"This is a big week coming up," LSUA Head Coach
Mark Hammond said. "We have two massive games against two very strong sides. We know how strong the opponents are this week so it will be a great challenge for ourselves. We have faced both these sides in the tournament final the past two seasons so we know that to achieve our goals we have to be able to get results against the top teams in the Red River."
The Generals (5-3-1, 4-0-1 RRAC) are coming off a pair of road wins over Texas College and Jarvis Christian.
Remmie Ferla became the Generals' all-time leading scorer netting her 22
nd career goal during a five-goal performance against Texas College.
SCOUTING LSU SHREVEPORT
The Pilots enter the week with an 8-3-0 record, including a 5-1-0 mark in RRAC play. They are 5-1-0 on the road. Last week LSUS split a pair of games against Xavier University of Louisiana and North American University, falling 4-2 to XULA and taking down North American 11-0.
Juliana Anchondo leads the Pilots' offense with 10 goals and one assist. She currently sits atop the roster in points with 21. Dawniella Torres has registered six goals and four assists for 16 points. Diana Godines currently ranks third with five goals and three assists for 13 points. Yuvia Vasquez leads the Pilots with eight assists. In total, seven different LSUS players have scored two or more goals. The Pilots have tallied goals from 10 different players on the season. As a unit, LSUS has notched 37 goals and conceded just 12.
In goal, Karina Correa has made eight starts and allowed four goals over 570:33. She has made 23 saves and holds a goals against average of 0.63. She has recorded three clean sheets and posted a record of 6-1-0. Melanie Grace has made three starts in goal with a record of 1-2-0. Grace has allowed eight goals and made 20 saves in 369:43. Isabelle Mapanao has made three appearances in net, all in relief. She has compiled 47 minutes and made two saves. Defensively, the Pilots have allowed 117 shots.
The Generals are 3-5-1 all-time against LSU Shreveport. LSUA has won two of the last three meetings, including a 1-0 victory to capture the 2023 RRAC Tournament Championship in Texarkana.
LSU Shreveport is tied for fourth in the RRAC table with Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 10.

The Eagles are 9-1-0 on the season with a 5-1-0 record In RRAC matches. They split last week's contests against North American University and Xavier University of Louisiana. The Eagles opened the week with a 9-0 win over NAU before falling to Xavier, 1-0.
Desiree Narvaez leads the Eagles with 10 goals and nine assists for 29 points. She has taken just 24 shots, converting 41.7 percent of her chances, with 16 of her shots being on goal. Narvaez has notched three game-winning goals. Brooklyn Lattier and Rylie Williams have each scored nine goals on the year with Lattier adding seven assists and Williams six helpers. The Eagles have 13 different goal scorers, each finding the score sheet at least twice thus far. The Eagles have scored 53 goals and conceded just five.
Ivana Robinson has made nine starts in goal for the Eagles. She has allowed just five goals in 675:00. Robinson has made 25 stops and holds a goals against average of 0.59. She has recorded three clean sheets and has a record of 8-1-0. Defensively, the Eagles have held opponents to just 69 shots.
The Generals are 4-2-1 all-time against the Eagles. They won the previous meeting on October 7, 2023, 2-0 in Texarkana.
Texas A&M-Texarkana is currently tied for fourth in the RRAC table with LSU Shreveport. The Eagles play Louisiana Christian on Thursday, October 10, before facing the Generals.

Admission to women's soccer games for spectators is free. The Generals Soccer Field is located on the back of LSUA's campus between Acorn Drive, Middleton Drive, and Tom Bowman Drive. Seating is located on the south side of the field. Game programs are available at the pitch.
Game Programs are available free of charge and can be found on the outside of the left ramp of the bleachers and in the center of the bleachers. Concessions are also available.
