ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team travels to Xavier University of Louisiana before hosting Louisiana Christian University.
"This will be a tough matchup," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "Xavier is fast, big, and well-coached. We are both top teams in conference as of now and we will see what we are made of. Rivalry games are always fun to play and LCU has been playing some good basketball. Should be a good game and fun to watch."
The Generals won a 65-63 contest at the buzzer against Texas College.
Blair Smith hit the game-winning shot as time expired.
SCOUTING XAVIER (LA.)
The Gold Nuggets are 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in RRAC play. They have won the first seven games of the year for the second consecutive season.
Lauren Banks leads Xavier averaging 16.6 points per game. Kam Shelley (16), and Joy Campbell (11.4) round out the Gold Nuggets scoring in double digits. Xavier averages 76.14 points per game, while holding their opposition to 61.29 points. The Gold Nuggets are shooting 42.5 percent from the floor and 30.7 percent from deep.
Patricia Sosa Lora leads Xavier's rebounding efforts, hauling in 8.2 rebounds per game. Zarla Harleaux totals 6.3 rebounds per game, while Lauren Banks records 6.0. The Gold Nuggets out rebound opponents 40.4 to 35.1.
The Generals are 3-2 all-time against Xavier (La.). They have lost the last two games against the Gold Nuggets, but are 2-0 when facing Xavier (La.) on the road.

Princis Goff averages 21.4 points per game, leading the Wildcats, and is shooting 48.6 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from deep. McKayla Price is also scoring in double digits, totaling 10.2 points per contest. She is shooting 43.6 percent from the floor. The Wildcats are shooting 40.4 percent as a unit and averaging 67.60 points per game. They allow 68.80 points and hold opponents to a shooting percentage of 38.2.
Goff also leads the Wildcats' rebounding efforts, hauling in 8.4 rebounds per game. Kylei Leblanc sits in second at an average of 6.6 boards. LCU has a +5-rebounding margin on the year at 37.2 to 32.4. The Wildcats have recorded 64 offensive rebounds.
