Three Earn All-RRAC Honors in Women's Basketball

ALEXANDRIA, LA – Sydney Person, Justice Young, and Aubrey Hoyt earned All-Red River Athletic Conference honors, the RRAC office announced today.

"I am honored to coach these women and these awards are well deserved," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said.

Person was named a First Team All-RRAC selection and the RRAC Freshman of the Year. She finished the regular season sixth in the conference in scoring at 14.1 points per game and was fourth in field goal percentage (47.6%). Person recorded 57 assists, 141 rebounds, 28 steals, and three blocks. She also notched five 20-plus point games.

"I'm very proud of Sydney, "Perkins noted. "It is tough to be a freshman and receive these honors. She has been consistent all year and has put in the work."

Young was named to the All-RRAC Second Team. She averaged 10.4 points and 7.6 rebounds for the Generals. She also recorded 16 steals and 28 blocks. Young shot 44.7% from the field and totaled 190 rebounds, 68 of which were offensive.

"I'm proud of Justice and her efforts," Perkins said. "With double and triple teams all year she has still performed."

Hoyt was named to the Champions of Character Team.

"This award represents Aubrey to a T," Perkins said. "She has been sidelined many games because of injury, but at anytime she was willing to help any of her teammates and coaches."
