PREVIEW | Women's Basketball Welcomes Rams, Stallions in RRAC Play

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team hosts Huston-Tillotson University and North American University in a pair of Red River Athletic Conference games.
 
"It is good to be home," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "We have two good matchups against Huston-Tillotson and North American University. Both teams are athletic and like to push the ball well. We got our work cut out but ready to see our team compete."
 
The Generals are coming off a trio of wins last week against Louisiana Christian, Southwest, and Paul Quinn.
 
SCOUTING HUSTON-TILLOTSON
The Rams are 5-5 overall and 4-3 in RRAC play. They are 2-1 on the road and have lost their last two games. They lost in overtime, 84-81, against Texas A&M-San Antonio before falling to Our Lady of the Lake, 73-71.

Huston-Tillotson averages 63.5 points per game and allows 65.2. They are shooting 35.4 percent from the floor and 22.5 percent from deep. Four players are averaging double digits in scoring. Wilashia Burleson leads the Rams at 12.7 points per game with Aliyah Carter behind her at 12.1. Summer Thomas (11.6) and Destiny Stanford (10.0) round out the double-digit scorers. Burleson is shooting 48.2 percent from the floor, a team-high. Carter is shooting 37.5 percent, while Thomas is knocking down 43.7 percent of her chances. Danielle Porter and Burleson are tied for the team lead in rebounds with 77. Porter holds the edge in rebounds per game at 8.6, as she has appeared in nine of the Rams' 10 games.
 
The Generals are 6-3 against the Rams all-time. They have won the last three meetings and are 4-0 against Huston-Tillotson when playing at The Fort.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM on Thursday, December 12, in The Fort.

SCOUTING NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY
The Lady Stallions are 5-5 on the season and 1-4 in RRAC play. They have won their last two games, taking down Our Lady of the Lake, 63-57, and Texas A&M-San Antonio, 79-78, last week.
 
Elisa Peralta leads the Lady Stallions, averaging 14 points per game. Keasia Robinson and Maurdaisha Powell both average 10.3 points per game. Peralta is shooting 44.4 percent from the floor, while Powell is shooting 43.5 percent. Robinson leads North American, shooting 49.5 percent. Robinson leads North American in rebounding, hauling in 8.2 boards per game. The Lady Stallions average 70.8 points per game and allow 69.3 points and are out rebounding opponents 36.9 to 33.2.
 
The Generals are 2-0 all-time against the Stallions all-time.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, at The Fort.
