ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team grabbed an 11-0 victory over Paul Quinn College. Micaela Nunes and Alexia Bermejo Jo tallied hat tricks.
 
Only the first half was played as Paul Quinn College did not have enough remaining active players to resume play in the second half.
 
"We talked about having our own standards from the the first whistle," LSUA Head Coach Mark Hammond said. "We executed well today and played with intensity. They deserved a good win as we've been working hard."
 
Ellen Meijer started the scoring. She scored her first goal of the season in the seventh minute, burying a rebound off the post from Nunes. Meijer finished with a pair of goals and one assist for five points.
 
Three minutes later, LSUA struck again. Ksenija Pavlovic scored her first of the game with helpers from Meijer and Bermejo Jo. She scored her second in the 18^th minute, finishing off a rebound generated by Nunes. Pavlovic finished with five points (2G+1A=5TP)
 
Less then 30 seconds after Pavlovic's second goal, Nunes scored her first of the afternoon. Bermejo Jo and Pavlovic combined to find Nunes on the top of the 18 for a 4-0 lead.
 
Bermejo Jo was next on the scoresheet, potting her first in the 19^th minute off a one-timed pass from Nunes. She added her second goal in the 25^th minute and completed the hat trick in the 31^st.
 
Nunes buried her second of the game in the 23^rd minute, putting her shot past the keeper off a pass from Bermejo Jo. Her third goal came in the 32^nd minute.
 
Remmie Ferla tallied the Generals' final goal. She one-timed a low service from Shealbie Whatley into the back of the net for an 11-0 advantage.
 
Bermejo Jo finished with 10 points (3G+4A=10TP). Nunes tallied nine points (3G+3A=9TP).
 
The Generals barraged Paul Quinn with 31 total shots.
 
LSUA is back at home on Saturday, September 28, against Southwest (N.M.). Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Generals Soccer Field.
