NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's team competed in the ITA NAIA Gulf Regional Championship from September 27 – September 29.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
Gianna Panaggio, Kanu Rajawat, and Joline Roesch opened the tournament with singles wins in the Round of 64. Rajawat and Nahia Echaide earned wins in the Round of 32.
 
Panaggio defeated Adrianna Guangko (TAMUT) 6-0, 6-2 for her first collegiate win. Rajawat also recorded her first career win, taking down Lidia Gomez 6-2, 6-3. Roesch battled back after dropping the first set against Millie Wileman (OLLU) to record the victory 10-4 in the tiebreak.

Echaide handled Weichaio Chen (Dillard), 6-2, 6-3 in the Round of 32 after receiving a bye in the opening round. Rajawat swept the first set, 6-0, against Tiffany Cheng (WC) in the Round of 32 and took the match 6-0, 6-3.

The Round of 16 is scheduled for Saturday, September 28. Rajawat will face No. 3 Amira Bergaoui (XULA). Echaide squares off against No. 6 Chloe Henderson (Loyola N.O.). Both matches are scheduled for 9:00 AM.

Panaggio and Echaide won their doubles match in the opening round, 9-8 (7-5), over Ely Laure Ah-sou and Sofia Gonzalez (OLLU). In the Round of 16, Belen Blasco and Farren Sandy recorded a 9-8, (7-5) victory over Ana Sofia Ferrer Martinez and Adowja-Sika Geli (LCU).

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28
Echaide won her Round of 16 match against Loyola's (N.O.) Chloe Henderson, 6-3, 6-1, before falling in the quarterfinals to No.3 Amira Bergaoui (XULA), 6-3, 7-5.

Rajawat fell to Bergaoui in the Round of 16, 6-2, 6-4, [10-8].
