ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team travels to Texas College for a Red River Athletic Conference game on Saturday, January 18.
"Texas College will be a challenging game.," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "TC is very athletic and physical but we are looking to the challenge."
The Generals (13-5, 10-4 RRAC) are coming off a pair of victories last week against Texas A&M-Texarkana, 75-54, and Jarvis Christian University, 76-69.
SCOUTING TEXAS COLLEGE
The Steers are 4-12 on the season and 3-10 in RRAC play. They have lost their last three outings, including a pair of games against Xavier and one against LSU Shreveport.
Texas College averages 59.1 points per game and are shooting 34 percent from the floor. Tyler Pyburn leads the Steers' offense, averaging 17.1 points per game. She is shooting 43.9 percent from the field. Keaundra Kelly sits in second, averaging 13 points per game and knocking down shots at a clip of 39.4 percent. Kelly leads the Steers in rebounding, hauling in 8.2 rebounds per game. Pyburn is behind her at 7.4 boards per game.
The Generals notched a 65-63 victory in the first half of the season over Texas College on November 19 in Alexandria. LSUA is 17-2 all-time against the Steers. The Generals have won the last six meetings and are 7-2 when playing on the road.
Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, in Tyler, Texas.
