PREVIEW | Red River Rivalry Awaits Generals Prior to Hosting No. 21 XULA

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team travels to cross-town rival Louisiana Christian University, before hosting No. 21 Xavier University in Red River Athletic Conference play.
 
"It's a big week for our team to compete against two good opponents," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "Our rivalry game against an LCU team that is playing well. Our Xavier game will be tough because they are undefeated this year and are very good."
 
The Generals (14-5, 11-4 RRAC) are coming off a 68-62 victory over Texas College.
 
SCOUTING LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN
The Wildcats hold a 6-10 record and are 6-8 in RRAC play. They are 3-4 when playing at home. They won their last outing against Huston-Tillotson, 83-68.
 
Louisiana Christian averages 66.8 points per game, while their opponents average 71.4, a differential of -4.7. The Wildcats hold a +7.4 margin in rebounding, however, 43.8 to 36.3.
 
Princis Goff leads the Wildcats, and the RRAC, in scoring. She averages 20.8 points per game and is shooting 43.9 percent from the field. Goff is shooting 32.9 percent from the floor and 32.4 percent from deep. At the free throw line, she is knocking down 81.8 percent of her shots.
 
McKayla Price (9.3) and Kylei Leblanc (8.2) round out the top three scorers for the Wildcats. Price is shooting 44.4 percent, while Leblanc is knocking down over half her shots at 50.4 percent.
 
Leblanc leads Louisiana Christian in rebounding, hauling in 8.4 boards per game. Goff is second at 7.9. Leblanc also leads the Wildcats with 24 blocks, while Goff leads in steals with 30.
 
The Generals grabbed an 80-68 victory over the Wildcats in the first half of the season. LSUA is 6-3 against Louisiana Christian all-time. They are 0-2 when playing in Pineville.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM in Pineville, La. on Thursday, January 23.

SCOUTING NO. 21 XAVIER (La.) UNIVERSITY
The No. 21 Gold Nuggets are undefeated on the season, boasting an 18-0 overall record and a mark of 15-0 in RRAC play. They are on a 22-game regular season winning streak, dating back to February 17, 2024.
 
Xavier's (La.) last regular season loss came against (RV) LSU Shreveport, 67-61, on February 15, 2024.
 
The Gold Nuggets are averaging 75.4 per game and holding opponents to 58.5, a margin of 16.9 points. They are shooting 40.9 percent from the floor. Leading Xavier's offense are Kam Shelley (15.1), Lauren Banks (13.2), and Joy Campbell (12.7). Shelley is knocking down 38.5 percent of her shots and 32.8 percent from long range. Banks is shooting 33.8 percent from the floor, while Campell leads the trio at 44.2 percent.
 
Zarla Harleaux leads the Gold Nuggets in rebounding, hauling in 6.5 rebounds per game. Sierra Headquist is behind her at 5.5. Xavier it out rebounding opponents 44.3 to 36.3 on average, a margin of 8.0.
 
The Generals are 7-7 against Xavier all-time. They are 3-3 when playing at home.
