PREVIEW | Baseball Travels to Wiley (TX) for Non-Conference Series

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team travels to Wiley University (TX) for a non-conference three-game series.
 
"We are looking forward to getting on the road once again to go play a quality opponent in Wiley," LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux said. "They have had some success in the past couple of seasons so we will have to go and play well. We have been getting better every time we step on the field and we look to continue that progress this weekend."
 
The Generals (11-7, 6-0 RRAC) are coming off a sweep of Red River Rival Louisiana Christian.  The game three victory was the 100th win of Head Coach Gautreaux's career.
 
SCOUTING WILEY (TX)
The Wildcats enter the week with a record of 11-6 and a mark of 5-1 in conference play. They are 6-0 when playing at home and have won their last two games. They have a single game against Texas A&M-Texarkana on Wednesday, February 26, before meeting the Generals on Friday and Saturday.
 
Wiley is slashing .355/.455/.565 on the season. The Wildcats have hit 13 homeruns and scored 174 runs. Leading the Wildcats' offense is Adrian Cindo. In 13 games, Cindo is hitting .438 with an on-base percentage of .514. He is slugging .719 with one homerun and nine runs batted in. Cindo has one double and one triple. Ivan Del Villar is hitting .397 and slugging .690. He has blasted three homeruns and has driven in 18.
 
On the mound, Wiley has posted a team ERA o 5.41 and a WHIP of 1.57. The Wildcats' staff has thrown five complete games and struck out 136 hitters. Isaac Burciaga has made a team-high five starts. He is 3-1 across 24.1 innings with an ERA of 3.70. Burciaga has fanned 24 hitters and walked 13. Opposing hitters have an average of .202 against him. Nick Rodriguez and Keyon Guillory have both tossed 28 innings. Guillory is 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA, while Rodriguez is 3-1 with a 5.14 ERA. They have struck out 38 and 28 hitters, respectively.
 
The Generals are 32-10 all-time against the Wildcats. They have won the last four meetings and are 14-5 when playing on the road.
 
First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, February 28, and 12:00 PM for Saturday, March 1.
