PREVIEW | Baseball Hosts John Melvin and Southwest (N.M.)

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team hosts John Melvin University in a non-conference game before facing the University of the Southwest (N.M.) in a three-game series.
 
The Generals are coming off a three-game series against Our Lady of the Lake University. LSUA scored 22 runs in the series finale for a 22-11 comeback win.
 
SCOUTING JOHN MELVIN
The Millers are 10-12 on the season and 6-10 when playing on the road. They have won two of their last three games.
 
John Melvin is slashing .275/.413/.407 as a team with nine homeruns and 129 runs scored. Trevor Durr leads the Millers with an average of .339. Sammy Maddox is hitting .309 and has driven in 17 runs. Maddox is tied for the team lead in long balls with JT Teuton at two. Five other players have hit one each.
 
Gavin LeBlanc has thrown a team-high 37 innings on the mound. He has posted a 2.43 ERA over six starts. He has a record of 4-1 and has recorded 62 strikeouts. No other JMU pitcher has recorded over 20 innings.  As a team, the Millers have an ERA of 7.10 and a WHIP of 1.87.

The Mustangs are 11-14 entering the week with an RRAC record of 2-8. They have lost the last four games and are 1-6 when playing on the road.
