ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team hosts No. 12 William Carey in a mid-week game before travelling to No. 1 LSU Shreveport for a three-game series.

"This will be a big week for us," LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux said. "William Carey and LSUS are two of the best teams in the country so we know we will have to play well if we want to have success. We are excited for the challenge and look forward to getting out there and competing."
 
The Generals (14-14, 8-4 RRAC) lost two of three against Southwest (N.M.) last week. Blaise Foote hit a solo homerun in a 6-4 victory in game three. Foote is now tied for the LSUA career homerun record with 25. He tied the mark set by Logan Constantine who played from 2016-2019.
 
SCOUTING NO. 12 WILLIAM CAREY
The Crusaders enter the week with a record of 22-4. They are 13-2 in Southern States contests. On the road, William Carey is 9-2.
 
Preston Ratliff leads the Crusaders' offense which has posted a .318 average thus far on the season. Ratliff is hitting .398 with an on-base percentage of .508. He is slugging .785 with nine homeruns and 41 runs batted in. Only Josh Alexander (10) has more round trippers on the season. As a team, the Crusaders have hit 36 homeruns and are slugging .541. They have stolen 72 stolen bases in 78 attempts, led by a perfect 23-for-23 from Bridley Thomas.
 
Matthew Davis, Conner Wilson, and Andrew Shirah have combined for 18 of the Crusaders' starts. Shirah leads WCU in innings at 35.1. He Is 4-0 on the season with an ERA of 5.86 and a WHIP of 1.44. Wilson is 2-1 with an ERA of 3.21 and a WHIP of 1.36 over 28 innings. Opposing hitters have an average of just .192 against him. Davis has thrown 30.2 innings and is 4-1 on the year. He has an ERA of 2.64 and a WHIP of 1.27. As a staff, William Carey has an ERA of 4.38 and a WHIP of 1.48.
 
The Generals are 2-12 all-time against William Carey. They have lost the last 12 meetings and are 2-5 when playing at home.
 
SCOUTING NO. 1 LSU SHREVEPORT
The Pilots are undefeated on the season, boasting a 25-0 overall record and a 12-0 mark in Red River Athletic Conference play. They are 15-0 when playing at home.
 
As a unit, the Pilots have scored 231 runs. They are slashing .325/.470/.555 and have hit 29 homeruns. Austin Gomm is hitting .451 through 20 games. He has five homeruns and driven in 22 on the season. Josh Gibson is hitting .381 with three round trippers and 28 driven in. Gibson has also swiped a team-high 25 bases.
 
On the mound, Isaac Rohde and Draven Zeigler are both 6-0. Rohde leads the Pilots with 50.0 innings, while Zeigler comes in second with 40.2. Rohde has posted an ERA of .198, struck out 71, and opposing hitters have an average of just .176. Zeigler has an ERA of 1.99, 54 strikeouts, and an opposing average against of .167.
 
LSUA is 4-15 against the Pilots since 2019. They are 1-6 when playing away from home and have lost the last two games against LSUS.
