PREVIEW | Baseball Takes on DI SLU in Exhibition, Hosts TAMUT in RRAC Play

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team hosts Texas A&M-Texarkana on Thursday after playing Division I Southeastern Louisiana in an exhibition on Tuesday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Generals (14-18, 8-7 RRAC) were swept by No. 1 LSU Shreveport last week.
 
Luke Benoit leads the Generals with an average of .302. Blaise Foote is one homerun shy of holding the LSUA career record after hitting his 25th career blast two weeks ago. Julien Kliebert continues his chase for the LSUA all-time stolen base record. He is currently 10-for-11 this season and needs six to break the current record of 69.
 
SCOUTING SOUTHEASTERN
The Lions are 18-5 on the season. They have lost their last two games. Tuesday's game is an exhibition for the Generals.
 
SLU is slashing .307/.428/.549 as a team. Giovanni Licciardi leads the Lions with a .440 average. He is reaching base at a clip of .517. Ryan Brome leads the Lions in both homeruns (10) and runs batted in (25).
 
On the mound, the Lions have an ERA of 3.15 and a WHIP of 1.27. Brennan Stuprich has made six starts and is 6-0 on the year. He holds an ERA of 1.17 and a WHIP of 0.78. He has recorded 55 strikeouts through 38.1 innings. Lakin Polk has an ERA of 2.17 and a WHIP of 1.28 through six starts. He is 3-0 on the year and has struck out 32 in 29.0 innings.
 
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M-TEXARKANA
The Eagles are 22-9 on the season with an 11-4 record in RRAC play. They have won their last three meetings.
 
TAMUT is slashing .345/.456/.547 as a team. They have scored 277 runs and hit 33 homeruns. Jose Parreno (.457), Austin Kerns (.422), and Jason Armendariz (.395) lead the Eagles' offense. Kerns leads the Eagles in both homeruns (8) and runs batted in (30). Parreno has a team-high 10 stolen bases.
 
On the mound, Blake Taylor has made nine starts for TAMUT. He is 4-2 through 47.2 innings with an ERA of 3.02 and a WHIP of 1.34. Taylor has recorded 30 strikeouts. Gage Mason ahs made eight starts and is 1-1 through 37.2 innings. He has an ERA of 4.30 and a WHIP of 1.30 with 41 strikeouts. The Eagles have a team ERA of 5.00 and a WHIP of 1.63.
