HAMMOND, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria dropped an exhibition to NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana University, 15-6.
Blaise Foote,
Peyton Marcantel, and
Judge Boudreaux each recorded a pair of hits. Marcantel drove in a pair of runs, while
Luke Benoit, Foote, Boudreaux, and
Landon Langley all collected one RBI.
Marcantel's first RBI came in the opening frame. He slipped a single through the left side of the infield to drive in
Julien Kliebert for a 1-0 lead. Southeastern responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half.
A pair of sacrifice flies from Foote and Benoit in the second drove in a pair. Marcantel then doubled home Kliebert for a 4-2 advantage.
SLU scored the next three runs for a 5-4 lead, scoring a run in each inning from the third to the fifth. The Generals tied the game on a ground out from
Landon Langley in the sixth.
The game didn't stay tied for long. The Lions scored five runs on one hit in the sixth inning, including driving in four with a grand slam, to take a 10-5 lead.
Boudreaux drove in the Generals' final run with a single in the seventh. SLU scored two in the seventh and three in the eighth.
LSUA hosts Texas A&M-Texarkana on Thursday, March 27, at Generals Baseball Field in a doubleheader.
