Box Score 2 HAWKINS, TX – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team split a doubleheader against Jarvis Christian University, 6-2 and 7-1.
"I'm proud of how our guys competed today," said LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux. "Jarvis is never an easy place to go and play on the weekend so to win the series was good. Game one, their two pitchers did a good job of keeping us off balance and we were never able to get our offense going. Game two, our offense was able to score when we had opportunities and Vice gave us his first career nine inning complete game."
GAME ONE | JCU 6, LSUA 2
Lane Patin and
Keegan Garcia scored the Generals' (21-21, 14-9 RRAC) runs.
Landon Langley drove in Garcia with a sacrifice fly in the fourth, while Patin scored in the first.
GAME TWO | JCU 7, LSUA 1
William Vice (3-2) tossed a complete game for the win.
A two-run triple from
Blaise Foote opened the scoring in the backend of the twin bill.
Jaxon Bernard followed him with an RBI single of his own for a 3-0 lead in the fourth. The Generals strung together four consecutive hits to open the inning.
A pair of RBI singles in the eighth from
