PREVIEW | Baseball Travels to UHV in Final Regular Season Series

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team closes the regular season with a three-game series at the University of Houston-Victoria.

"We are excited to travel to Victoria again and see where we stack up against the best in the country," said LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux. "Our guys are prepared and ready for the three games we get to play against a great opponent."
 
CONFERENCE STANDINGS
The Generals (23-23, 16-11 RRAC) are currently in fifth place in the RRAC standings. They are one game behind Our Lady of the Lake (25-21, 17-10 RRAC) and Texas A&M Texarkana (31-16, 17-10 RRAC), and two ahead of Southwest (N.M.) (25-20, 14-13 RRAC).
 
Our Lady of the Lake travels to Xavier (La.) for a three-game series on Friday and Saturday. Texas A&M Texarkana and Southwest (N.M.) battle it out in Hooks, Texas on Saturday and Sunday in a three-game series.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Generals dropped two games of their three-game series against Huston-Tillotson University. LSUA took the middle game, 11-9.
 
Landon Langley hit his first career home run on his career. A solo shot in the fourth inning. Brett Batteford, Julien Kliebert, Zach Mengarelli, Dezmon Dugas, Jamari Valery, and Jaxon Bernard all drove in runs. William Vice earned (4-2) earned the win on the mound. He tossed 5.1 innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits. Vice struck out nine.
 
Blaise Foote leads LSUA's offense with 11 home runs and 53 runs driven in. He is one home run shy of setting the LSUA single season record. Foote also need six runs batted in to surpass the current single season RBI record. He is riding a 10-game hitting streak.
 
SCOUTING UHV
The Jaguars are 34-13 on the season and 19-8 in RRAC play. They have lost their last five games and are 23-4 when playing at home.
 
UHV has the fourth best pitching staff in the NAIA with a 3.50 team ERA. Brady Parker sits fourth across all NAIA pitchers with 99 strikeouts. Mason Longoria has racked up 11 wins and is tied for the NAIA lead.
 
Offensively, the Jags have posted a .305 average as a team with Cristian Garcia leading the charge at .469.
 
LSUA is 34-44 all-time against UHV. The pair faced off in an RRAC Tournament elimination game last season with UHV coming out on top.
