PREVIEW | No. 10 Tennis Hosts LSU Shreveport

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The No. 10 Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's tennis team hosts LSU Shreveport at the LSUA Tennis Courts on Friday after their initial match was rained out.

LAST TIME OUT
The Generals (6-3), recorded a pair of wins in the LSUA Tournament over Texas A&M-Texarkana and Xavier (La.).
 
LSUA swept TAMUT 5-0. In doubles, Nahia Echaide and Joline Roesch defeated Emmanouela Besi and Ana Gonzalez, 6-1, in the top pairing. Kanu Rajawat and Gianna Panaggio took down Andrea Castillo and Adrianne Guangko, 6-3, in No. 2 Doubles. In the final doubles pairing, Belen Blasco and Isabella Stuurman recorded a 6-0 victory over Meghan Connolly and Tatum Sikes.
 
Echaide notched a 6-2 win over Gonzalez in No. 1 Singles. Rajawat captured a 6-1, 4-6, [10-5] win over Besi in No. 2 Singles. Panaggio won 6-2, 6-1 over Guangko in No. 4 Singles. Stuurman took down Connolly 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5 Singles.
 
Both Blasco and Roesch recorded 8-0 pro set victories over Castillo and Sikes, respectively, at No. 3 and No. 6.
 
Against Xavier (La.), the Generals recorded a 4-2 victory on Senior Day. Blasco clinched the match victory with a 6-7, 7-5, 6-2 win over Asadah Ma'at in No. 3 Singles.
 
The Generals (6-3) dropped the doubles point with the Gold Nuggets (11-9) taking two of the three doubles matches. Rajawat and Panaggio recorded the lone doubles win in the second pairing, 6-3, over Mbali Langa and Ma'at.
 
In No. 1 Singles, Echaide won in three sets over Langa 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Panaggio won 6-3, 0-6, 7-5 over Hana Moss in No. 4 Singles. Stuurman picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win in No. 5 Singles against Sanai LeSure.
 
Roesch was ahead 7-5 in No. 6 Singles when Blasco clinched the victory for LSUA.
 
SCOUTING LSU SHREVEPORT
The Pilots are 7-2 on the season after winning their last match 4-3 against Louisiana Christian.
 
Pierina Lescher has a World Tennis Number of 19.97. Behind her are Angela Basto (21.38) and Maike Tiemersma (22.38).
