Box Score ALEXANDRIA, LA – The No. 10 Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's tennis team defeated No. 25 Louisiana State University of Shreveport, 5-2.
 
"LSUS has another really good team this year," LSUA Head Coach Melinda Descant said. "But the girls were ready to play and did very well."
 
The Pilots captured the doubles point, winning two of three. Nahia Echaide and Lucie Ivanova recorded the Generals' lone doubles win, 6-4.
 
In singles, Echaide, Isabella Stuurman, Ivanova, Ekaterina Orlova, and Esthella Valentina Gonzalez Saiza all recorded victories.
 
Echaide recorded a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Meike Timersma in the top singles spot. Stuurman notched a 6-2, 6-2 win over Lydia Gomez in the #2 Singles. Ivanova won 6-2, 6-4 over Lucia Lucas in the three-spot. Orlova captured a 6-2, 7-5 win in the fourth singles match against Sara Sanchez and Gonzalez Saiza tallied a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jade Dirks.
 
LSUA travels to Dillard University on February 11.
