#3 Baseball Takes on #2 Tennessee Wesleyan in NAIA Opening Round

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team takes on two-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan University in their first game of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.

THE GENERALS
LSUA enters the Kingsport bracket as the three-seed after posting a 33-15 record. It is the first time the Generals have returned to the NAIA postseason since 2022.

Landon Langley is also above the .300 mark on the season at .327. Langley has driven in 46 runs and scored 43 times. The Generals have amassed 145 stolen bases on the season.
 
LSUA holds a team ERA of 5.66 on the season with a WHIP of 1.66. Carter Fabre leads the Generals with an 8-2 record over 13 starts. He has tossed 79.1 innings and posted an ERA of 4.76 with a WHIP of 1.50. Fabre has registered a team-high 63 strikeouts and is holding opponents to an average of .244.
 
SCOUTING TENNESSEE WESLEYAN
The Bulldogs are the two-seed in the Kingsport bracket. They posted a 40-14 record in 2026. Tennessee Wesleyan has won the last five games.
 
As a team, the Bulldogs have posted an average of .341 across the 2026 season with an on-base percentage of .440 and a slugging percentage of .549. They clubbed 63 home runs and have scored 505 runs. Josh Shelly has posted a team-high .415 average across 41 games. Allan Gil Fernandez is sitting at .399 with a team-high 70 runs scored. Kolton Reynolds leads the Bulldogs with 14 home runs and is one of three players to reach double digit home runs. Shelly (12) and Fernandez (11) have also eclipsed 10. THE KINGSPORT BRACKET
LSUA and Tennessee Wesleyan join one-seeded Webber (Fla.), four-seeded Indiana Wesleyan, and five-seeded William Woods.
 
Indiana Wesleyan and William Woods play Monday, May 11, at 11:00 AM ET with Webber playing the winner at 6:00 PM ET. The winner of LSUA and TWU will play on Tuesday, May 12, at 2:30 PM ET after the 11:00 AM featuring the loser of game one and game two. Tuesday's 6:00 PM game features the winner of game four and the loser of game three.
 
On Wednesday, May 13, the winner of game six and loser of game five play at 11:00 AM. At 2:30 PM, the winner of games five and seven play to determine the bracket champion. The if necessary game is scheduled for May 14 at 2:00 PM.
