ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team has signed 15 players in its 2026 recruiting class for the 2027 season.
Jena LeCamus is a 5-foot-5 utility player from Youngsville, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from Northwest Florida State where she hit .471 with an on-base percentage of .500. While playing for Southside High School, LeCamus was named a first team all-district selection her sophomore year and was an all-metro selection her senior year. LeCamus set Southside's single season stolen base record in 2025 with 52.

Camryn Becnel is a 5-foot-1 infielder from Thibodaux, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from Northwestern State University. While playing for Ed White Catholic High School, Becnel was a five-year all-state and all-district selection.

Jaleeyah Alford is a 5-foot-8 infielder from Sterlington, Louisiana. She joins LSUA from Sterlington High School. Alford earned 3A all-district MVP honors and was named First Team All-Ouatchita Parish. She also garnered LSCA 3S First Team honors, a second team all-state nod, and was a four-time first team all-district selection.
Why LSUA? "I picked LSUA because they are a really competitive school. It has been like family ever since I came on my first visit."
Coach Hagan on Alford: "Shug is an athletic and competitive player who brings a confident presence to the field. We love her toughness and believe she has the potential to become a difference maker for our program."
Avery Hastings is a 5-foot-6 outfielder from Zachary, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from Zachary High School. Hastings was a four-year all-district selection and earned all-state honorable mention accolades. She was also named to the all-state academic squad.
Why LSUA? "I chose LSUA because of the team culture and support that I got from the coaching staff, as well as the amazing opportunities that the school provides for nursing students."
Coach Hagan on Hastings: "Avery is a talented athlete who plays the game with confidence and great instincts. She brings speed and a strong defensive presence to our outfield. We are excited to watch her develop here at LSUA."
Rae'El Wheat is a 5-foot-4 utility player from Hammond, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from Ponchatoula High School. Wheat earned all-district honors in 2023 and 2024. She was named an all-district first team selection in 2025 and 2026. Wheat added all-parish honors in both 2025 and 2026 to her resume. She was also named to the 2026 Academic All-State team. While playing with Louisiana Blazers Elite, Wheat helped guide her squad to a USA Softball Championship.

Coach Hagan on Wheat: "Rae'El's athleticism and versatility allow her to impact the game in a number of different ways. She competes hard and has an exciting future here at LSUA."
Kallie Gibson is a 5-foot-7 right-handed pitcher from Maurice, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from North Vermilion High School. Gibson earned three first team all-district honors and one second team all-district selection while at North Vermilion. She was named MVP in 2026 and an all-metro second team selection. She tacked on LSCA All-State Honorable Mention honors as well. Gibson also earned a pair of all-parish first team nods and an LSWA All-State selection in 2026.
Why LSUA? "I chose LSUA because it gives me the opportunity to compete at a high level while also continuing my education. I believe this program will challenge me to become the best player and person I can be."

Gabrielle Mitchell is a 5-foot-8 infielder from Eunice, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from Southeastern Louisiana University and Eunice High School.
Why LSUA? "Taking time away from the game gave me the chance to rediscover why I fell in love with the sport and that it didn't define me as a person. People still loved Gabby without softball. Then I met these incredible people and coaching staff, and it became clear that if I was going again, it had to be here."
Coach Hagan on Mitchell: "Gabby brings a veteran presence to our team. We believe her experience, along with her strength and athleticism will fit extremely well with how we want to play."
Taylar Russell is a 5-foot-6 catcher and first baseman from Porter, Texas. She joins the Generals from New Caney High School. Russell posted a batting average of .450 during her high school career. She also earned All-District 13 6A Honorable Mention honors.
Why LSUA? "I chose LSUA because of the atmosphere of campus and the opportunity to compete at a higher level while earning my degree. It felt like the right place to grow both on and off the field."
Coach Hagan on Russell: "Taylar has a commanding presence on the field. She has the ability to impact both sides of the ball when she is on the field. We're excited to see her growth and development in our program."
Bailey Ducote is a 5-foot-3 utility player from St. Amant, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from St. Amant High School. Ducote was an LSWS Class 5A All-Metro and All-District First Team selection.
Why LSUA? "I chose LSUA because it was the first place I felt truly welcomed and supported in pursuing my goals. The campus atmosphere and community made me feel at home right away."
Coach Hagan on Ducote: "Bailey is an elite middle infielder with tremendous upside. We believe her competitiveness and willingness to do whatever her team needs will make her a great fit here."
Anna Cate Miller is a 5-foot-5 right-handed pitcher from West Monroe, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from LSU Eunice. Miller earned a trio of first team all-parish and two first team all-district honors while playing at Claiborne Christian High. She also earned First Team LSCA and LSWA alongside a pair of Class C Outstanding Player awards. In 2024, Miller was a Class C All-State selection.
Why LSUA? "I chose LSUA because it felt like home as soon as I stepped on campus! The people are amazing and I love how the program is represented! I can't wait to be a General!"
Coach Hagan on Miller: "Anna Cate brings experience and a competitive mindset to the circle. She knows how to attack hitters and compete in the big moments. We are excited to see what she accomplishes as a General."
Jacie Boothe is a 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher from Henderson, Texas. She joins the Generals from Henderson High School. Boothe was a three-time first team all-district selection while at Henderson. Following her freshman season, Boothe was named the Newcomer of the Year. She then earned Best Preps East Texas Softball Player of the Year and Texas Sports Writers All-State Softball Team honors after her junior season. A two-way player, Booth posted an ERA of 1.17 with an opposing average against of .196. She registered over 600 strikeouts in the circle. As a hitter, Boothe recorded an average of .413, with an on-base percentage of .489, and an OPS of 1.227. She logged 179 runs batted in and 22 home runs – a Henderson record.

Coach Hagan on Boothe: "Jacie is a competitor who brings a lot of mound experience to our team. We believe she has all the tools to develop into a key part of our pitching staff and be an important piece to our program."
Ciara Orgeron is a 5-foot-10 utility player from Stonewall, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from LSUE. While playing for North DeSoto High School, Orgeron posted an average of .334 with 34 home runs, 133 runs scored, and 116 runs batted in. She helped guide her team to three state championships. Orgeron was a member of the Chancellor's List in both 2025 and 2026 while at LSUE.

I also love the coaches because they genuinely care about their players, both on and off the field, and I know they'll help me grow as both a student and an athlete."
Coach Hagan on Orgeron: "Ciara is a versatile athlete who gives us several options and makes our roster deeper. She plays the game with great energy and we believe her best softball is still ahead of her."
Parker Nugent is a 5-foot-6 outfielder from Grayson, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from Caldwell Parish High School. Nugent was four-time 3A all-district selection and two-time Golden Glove Award winner. She earned four academic excellence honors and posted a career batting average of .409.
Why LSUA? "I chose to continue my athletic career and further my education at LSUA because I fell in love with the program itself, along with the sense of community the school takes pride in."
Coach Hagan on Nugent: "Parker competes and brings great energy to the field. Her work ethic and team-first attitude make her exactly the kind of player we want here at LSUA."
Macy Nordstrom is a five-foot right-handed pitcher from West Monroe, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from East Central Community College. In two seasons at ECCC, Nordstrom registered 16 wins, two saves, nine complete games, and over 140 innings pitched. She struck out 110 hitters over two seasons. During her time at West Monroe High School, Nordstrom was a two-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete and a three-time first team all-district selection.
Why LSUA? "I chose LSUA because I saw it as a place where I could grow both as an athlete and as a student with opportunities to develop my athletic abilities while exploring a variety of academic programs."

Jadyn Yesso is a 5-foot-2 infielder from Houma, Louisiana. She joins the Generals from LSUE and Houma Christian.
Why LSUA? "I chose LSUA because I wanted to stay close to home and when I visited "A" I knew it was meant to be!"
Coach Hagan on Yesso: "Jadyn is a dependable player who is going to play the game the right way. Her energy and work ethic are just a couple of traits that makes her a player any coach would want in their program."
