ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team was selected second in the Red River Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll, the conference office announced.
 
The Generals received 84 points and one first-place vote. LSUA finished last season with a record of 11-8-1, including an 8-2-1 mark in RRAC play.
 
LSU Shreveport was selected to finish first with 97 points and seven first-place votes. Texas A&M-Texarkana (75) was selected to finish third while Our Lady of the Lake (71) rounded out the fourth spot and received the final first-place vote. Texas A&M-San Antonio (52), Texas A&M-Victoria (51), Louisiana Christian (49), University of the Southwest (N.M.) (34), North American University (20), and Texas College (13) round out the final spots in the poll.
 
LSUA opens the regular season on Friday, August 21, at Freed-Hardeman University. The Generals home opener is scheduled for Sunday, August 30, against Bethel University (TN) at noon.
