One of the pillars which helped the LSUA tennis team quickly rise from a new team to a national contender, Sara Andrade quickly asserted herself as the team's number one. She immediately started dominating the opposition, earning her a top ranking as both a singles player and doubles tandem from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. In her senior season of 2017, the Generals rode Andrade's play all the way to the NAIA Tournament quarterfinals, marking the first time LSUA made the NAIA's last eight teams and ensuring a top-10 ranking from the NAIA in the postseason poll for the first time in program history. During that 2017 season, she finished singles play with an 8-8 record in the #1 spot, with seven matches left unfinished, where she met up with eight other ITA ranked players. In doubles, she teamed with Gisela Amor to go 17-6 as the LSUA's #1 team. She was twice named RRAC Player of the Week during her 2017 campaign. In the rankings, she finished #33 in singles and #12 in doubles with Amor. Andrade was also named Second Team NAIA All-American in 2017.
