The impressive Generals took down everyone that was put in front of them over the weekend. The Generals have started the season 6-2, and have beaten some tough opposition in the process. LSUA started the season ranked 3
rd in the nation, and they are proving the voters right by starting 2023 in style.

Game 1: First up for the Generals in the LSUA tournament was Dillard University. In the doubles,
Olivia Scattini and
Annemart Kleijn had an emphatic 6-0 victory to start things off.
Candela Bonivardi and
Patricia Martinez Molina cruised to a 6-2 victory.
Alicia Romero Gomez and
Maria Alvarez were leading 5-4, but the doubles point was already sealed for the Generals so there was no need for those two to waste any more energy. In the singles,
Patricia Martinez Molina,
Annemart Kleijn and
Olivia Scattini put on fantastic performances to ensure LSUA won the singles, and the match. The final score was LSUA 4-0 Dillard.

Game 2: Next up for the Generals was a Red River Rivalry game against LSUS. LSUS prove to be a tricky opponent for the Generals in most sports, but LSUA Tennis made an exception to that rule. In the doubles,
Alicia Romero Gomez and
Maria Alvarez cruised to a 6-2 victory.
Patricia Martinez Molina and
Candela Bonivardi only dropped one game in an impressive 6-1 victory. This time around, it was
Olivia Scattini and
Annemart Kleijn that didn't finish their game, even though they were looking good with a 5-3 lead. LSUA clinched the doubles in cruise control, and the singles were no different. All Generals looked comfortable, but it was
Maria Alvarez that put in the stand out performance. Alvarez took down Carmen Perez 6-0, 6-2, which set a brilliant standard for the rest of the weekend. The Final score was LSUA 4-0 LSUS.
Game 3: Next up for the Generals was a match against highly ranked William Carey. This game had everything, and it went right down to the wire. LSUA's Double pairings have been incredible all weekend, and the Generals took the doubles point once again. Coach of the year, Melinda Descant, deserves a huge amount of credit for selecting doubles pairings that cannot stop winning.

Olivia Scattini were phenomenal by taking a 6-1 victory.

Patricia Martinez Molina grinded out a 6-4 victory against tough opposition, and this time it was
Alicia Romero Gomez and
Maria Alvarez that did not finish their game, even though they were leading 5-4. Next up was the singles, which proved to be LSUA's toughest moments of the weekend. LSUA and William Carey traded blow for blow, but
Olivia Scattini,
Annemart Kleijn and the brilliant
Maria Alvarez clinched victory for the Generals. The final score was LSUA 4-3 William Carey.

Game 4: The Generals' final opponent for the LSUA tournament was Texas A&M University Texarkana.
Candela Bonivardi and Patricia Martinez took home the first victory for the Generals.

The Generals finished the weekend 4-0, and head coach Melinda Descant put together a fantastic tournament for all teams the made the trip. Next up for the Generals is a trip to Mobile, Alabama. LSUA will take on Southeastern University in their first game at 3:00 PM.
