ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team hosts Texas A&M-Texarkana in the Opening Round of the 2024 RRAC Championship.
"It's great hosting a playoff game this year rather than being on the road," LSUA Head Coach
Mackenzie Young said. "We have a tough game against a very good side. It's one game at a time now, win or go home. The boys are excited."
The Generals (11-4-3, 9-1-3 RRAC) finished the regular season with 5-0 victory over North American University.
LSUA enters as the No. 3 seed, while Texas A&M Texarkana is the No. 6 seed. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 PM on Thursday, November 7.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M-TEXARKANA
The Eagles finished the regular season with a 7-8-3 record, including a 5-6-2 mark in RRAC play. They have won their last two matches. Away from home, TAMUT is just 2-5-1.
Diego Picano scored just under half of the Eagles' goals during the 2024 campaign. He led TAMUT with 11 goals and one assist for 23 points. Aaron Bocanegra, Cristobal De Leon, and Real Eguaikhide each scored a pair of goals. Six other players scored a goal each. The Eagles tallied 23 goals on the season.
In goal, Seth Brown made 16 starts. He allowed 28 goals and made 68 saves in 1,248 minutes. He holds a goals against average of 2.02. The Eagles have allowed 31 goals for a goals against average of 2.02.

GENERALS TAKE REGULAR SEAON MEETING 1-0
An early goal from
Adam Sherwood lifted the Generals to a 1-0 victory over the Eagles during the regular season on October 12.
Sherwood drove deep into attacking territory towards the end line and sent a ball into the box, where it rattled off a defender and found its way over the goal line.
Valeriu Tarlev made three saves to keep the clean sheet and victory intact. In the 53
rd minute, Tarlev made a pair of saves in quick succession.
Damian Kunc made a sliding stop in the sixth minute, denying the Eagles an opportunity at close range and preserving the 0-0 score line.
