Baseball Announces 2026 Schedule

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team is excited to announce their 2026 schedule.
 
"We are excited to get the 2026 season underway with a great schedule that we have been able to put together," LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux said. "We will be playing at home three out of our first four weekends this year with a lot of different teams coming to Generals Field to compete so we are excited about that. We are ready for the challenge that our schedule will bring this season and hope to see everyone out at the field January 23rd!"
 
The Generals finished the 2025 campaign with a record of 23-28 and a 16-14 mark in Red River Athletic Conference play.
 
LSUA opens the campaign with a trio of home stints against Mid-America Christian, Wiley, and John Melvin University. They open with a doubleheader against MACU on January 23 before facing Wiley in a doubleheader on January 24. The next week they face JMU in a three-game series on January 30 and January 31.
 
MACU finished the 2025 campaign with 41 wins and a 20-7 record in conference play. They recorded wins over Southern-New Orleans, Ottawa (Kan.), and Johnson (Tenn.) in the NAIA Championship before falling to National Champion LSU Shreveport.
 
The Generals are once again taking part in the Cajun Collision in Sterlington, Louisiana on February 2 and February 3. They face Central Baptist College, Dakota State University, Hastings College, and Park University in the Collision.
 
After a Monday meeting with Southern University New Orleans on February 10, the Generals host Brescia, the University of Saint Francis (Ind.), and Midland University on February 13 and February 14.
 
Red River Athletic Conference play opens on February 20 with a road trip to Texas A&M-Texarkana for a three-game series.
 
LSUA's first RRAC home series features defending National Champion LSU Shreveport on February 27 and February 28 for a three-game set. The Pilots posted a perfect 59-0 record, including a 30-0 stint in RRAC play. 
 
On March 4, the Generals travel to NCAA DI McNeese State University for an exhibition.
 
RRAC play continues on March 6 and March 7 with a three-game home series against Xavier University (La.).
 
The Generals then make the jaunt to Hobbs, New Mexico for a conference series against Southwest (N.M.) on March 14 and 15.
 
A single game against William Carey University on Monday, March 17, prior to a three-game series against Texas College on Thursday and Friday. LSUA then travels to Jarvis Christian University the next week to take on the Bulldogs in RRAC play.
 
On March 31, LSUA travels to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for a non-conference game with William Carey University before hosting A&M-Victoria on April 3 and April 4.
 
The Generals then travel to Hammond, Louisiana for an exhibition against NCAA DI Southeastern.
 
Red River Rival Louisiana Christian University comes to Alexandria for a three-game series on April 10 and April 11. LSUA swept the Wildcats in Pineville last season, including staging a comeback in the series finale to complete the sweep. The series finale gave Gautreaux his 100th career victory as the Generals' skipper.
 
The regular season closes with a trip to San Antonio, Texas for a three-game series against Our Lady of the Lake University on April 17 and April 18.
