PREVIEW | Softball Opens RRAC Play at LCU, Hosts JCU

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The No. 21 Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team opens Red River Athletic Conference play at Louisiana Christian University before hosting Jarvis Christian University.
 
 "We are excited to get back on the field after a week off to fine tune some things we noticed in the first two weekends and give our girls some much needed rest," LSUA Head Coach Trent Partridge said. "We have a great matchup with LCU on Tuesday, that is always a competitive and exciting rivalry. Then on Saturday, we face another Red River matchup that we be a strong early season test for us."
 
The Generals (7-1, 0-0 RRAC) took last week off after opening the season in a pair of tournaments. They have won four straight games.
 
SCOUTING LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN
The Wildcats are 6-2 on the season. Their last outing was a 5-0 loss to No. 14 William Carey in the final game of the Generals Showdown on Feb. 8.
 
Emma Hunt leads the Wildcats' offense with an average of .455. She has scored seven runs and stolen eight bases in nine attempts. Hunt has drawn six walks and has an OBP of .571. Mariel Medrano leads LCU in runs batted in with 10. She is hitting .280 with an on-base percentage of .355. The Wildcats are hitting .285 as a team and have hit five homeruns. They have scored 49 runs and stolen 13 bases.
 
In the circle, Addison Greak and Morgan Louviere have both posted 2-0 records to start the season. Greak has tossed two complete games, one of which was shutout. In 14 innings, Greak has allowed just 12 hits. She has an ERA of 0.50 and a WHIP of 0.86. Greak has recorded seven strikeouts and opposing hitters have posted an average of .235 against her. Louviere has an ERA of 1.62 and a WHIP of 0.77. She has accumulated 13 innings over two starts. She's thrown one complete game shutout. Lousviere has allowed 10 hits, four runs, and struck out four. Hitters have an average of .204 against her. Miah Broussard is the only Wildcat pitcher with a loss on the season. She is 1-1 in two starts and has tossed a pair of complete games. In 16 innings, she has an ERA of 1.75 and a WHIP of 1.13. Broussard has struck out six hitters and is holding opponents to an average of .196. LCU has a team ERA of 2.16 and a WHIP of 1.15.
 
The Generals are 6-12 all-time against the Wildcats. They are 2-7 when playing on the road. LSUA has won the last two meetings.
 
First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, at LCU.

SCOUTING JARVIS CHRISTIAN
The Bulldogs are 1-1 on the season, splitting a doubleheader against Arlington Baptist.
 
As a team, they are hitting .491 and have scored 17 runs. Nahomi Garcia is 3-for-4 on the season, while Hailey Garza and Arianna Lezama are both 2-for-3.

She has one strikeout and a WHIP of 1.40. Lezama has recorded a pair of strikeouts and has an ERA of 7.00 and a WHIP of 2.57. JCU has a team ERA of 4.08 and a WHIP of 1.83.

The Generals are 29-2 against the Bulldogs all-time. They have won the last 10 meetings and are a perfect 15-0 when playing at home.
