ALEXANDRIA, LA – The No. 12 Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's tennis team takes on Savannah College of Art and Design in Pensacola, Fla. on Saturday, March 15.
The Generals (3-2) are coming off a strong showing at the Steve Foster Invitational where they picked up three wins.
Nahia Echaide earned RRAC Player of the Week honors. Echaide recorded a 6-1, 6-1 singles victory against Texas Wesleyan in the top singles spot. She then recorded a 6-2, 6-3 win in singles against LC State and a 6-3 win in doubles. Against William Woods, Echaide notched a 3-6, 6-3, [12-10] victory over Hanna Lindeboom – the ITA NAIA No. 13 (No. 2 in Central Region).
SCOUTING NO. 11 SCAD
The Bees are 5-5 on the season and 3-1 when playing at a neutral site. They won their last outing, 4-3, over No. 16 Marian University.
Cherry Xiang and Yue Yu have both recorded three wins thus far on the season. Xiang is 3-2 when playing in the No. 1 Singles slot. Yu is 3-1 when playing at No. 2 and 5-3 when playing in No. 1 Doubles; she was also ranked No. 22 in the ITA NAIA Women's Singles rankings in November. Lisa Konrad (2-1) and Francina Puig Liompart are both above .500. All three of Konrad's matches have come at the No. 5 Singles spot. Konrad is normally paired alongside Yu in No. 1 Doubles. Adeline Flanagan came into 2025 ranked No. 30 in the ITA NAIA Women's Singles.
