PREVIEW | No. 9 Softball Travels to Xavier (La.), Hosts UHV, HTU in RRAC Play

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The No. 9 Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team travels to Xavier University of Louisiana on Tuesday before hosting Huston-Tillotson University and the University of Houston-Victoria in a trio of doubleheaders.

LAST TIME OUT
The Generals (24-2, 8-0 RRAC) swept No. 13 William Carey and John Melvin University in a pair of non-conference doubleheaders last week.
 
LSUA recorded a 2-1 win in the opener against the Crusaders before slipping away with a 13-11 victory in game two. Against the Millers, LSUA won 14-6 in game one before taking game two 8-0.
 
Haley Primrose is up to 15 wins on the season after recording three wins last week against the Crusaders and Millers. Alyssa Soileau (8-0) tossed a complete game shutout against John Melvin University in game two.
 
Kaetlyn Dunbar recorded two hits in three consecutive games while driving in seven runs. She leads the Generals with an average of .463. Julia Kwakernaak leads LSUA with seven homeruns and 32 runs batted in.
 
SCOUTING XAVIER (LA.)
The Gold Nuggets are 10-8 on the season and 6-6 in Red River Athletic Conference play.
 
Xavier is slashing .277/.358/.374 as a team. They've scored 52 runs and have four homeruns. Say Angelle leads the Gold Nuggets with an average of .500 and has driven in a team-high 16 runs. Madison Winston (.414) and Arin Dale (.406) round out the top three hitters for XULA.
 
In the circle, Essynce Wallace has tossed 32.2 innings. She has a record of 2-3 over 10 appearances and holds an ERA of 4.93. Wallace has recorded eight strikeouts and has a WHIP of 1.74. The Gold Nuggets have a team ERA of 4.74 and a .267 batting average against.
 
SCOUTING HUSTON-TILLOTSON
The Rams are 3-11 on the season and in RRAC play. They split a doubleheader with Southwest (N.M.) their last time out.
 
HTU is slashing .309/.384/.425 as a team. They have scored 61 runs and have hit seven homeruns. Kayla Camacho leads the Rams with an average of .417 and an OPS of 1.086. Behind her is Alayali Alaniz at .415 with an OPS of 1.114. Menina Cavazos leads the power numbers for the Rams. She has a team-high three homeruns and 13 runs batted in.
 
In the circle, Kayla Camacho and Marleigh Robinson have split pitching duties. They have each made seven starts. Camacho has thrown 52.0 innings and Robinson has tossed 23.2. Camacho is 2-5 on the year with an ERA of 9.42 and a WHIP of 2.71. She has struck out 33. Robinson is 1-6 with an ERA of 15.38 and a WHIP of 3.72. Opposing hitters are hitting .423 against the pair.

SCOUTING HOUSTON-VICTORIA
The Jaguars are 17-13 on the season with a 9-3 mark in RRAC play. They are coming off a split against Southwest (N.M.).

UHV is slashing .321/.375/.445 as a team and have scored 170 runs with 12 homeruns. They are led by Claire Blinka with an average of .475. She has driven in a team-high 25 and leads the Jaguars with four homeruns. Kenzie Chambers leads the Jaguars with 34 stolen bases in 36 attempts.

In the circle, the Jaguars ahve an ERA of 3.71 and a WHIP of 1.54. Hope Quinones and Audrie Sayas have handled the majority of the pitching duties. Sayas has thrown a team-high 78.0 innings over 17 appearances, 14 of which have been starts. Sayas is 8-6 on the season with an ERA of 2.33 and a WHIP of 1.18. She has reocrded 50 strikeouts. Quinones is 6-6 through 11 starts. She has made 17 appearances and tossed 57.0 innings. Quinones has an ERA of 4.79 and a WHIP of 1.81 with 39 strikeouts.
