ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team is headed to Fayette, Missouri as the one-seed in the NAIA Opening Round, the NAIA announced.

LSUA is joined by host and two-seed Central Methodist, three-seed British Columbia, four-seed Campbellsville, and five-seed Tennessee Southern.

"Love the draw," LSUA Head Coach Trent Partridge said.  "We got to see several of the teams in Gulf Shores. As the one-seed, we have an extra game to see everything out in front of us and show up and go play."

It is the second straight year the Purple and Gold have made the NAIA postseason. They traveled to Chickasha, Oklahoma last season as the three-seed.

As the top seed, the Generals receive a bye and will play the winner of Campbellsville and Tennessee Southern at 5:00 pm on Monday, May 12.
