Softball All-Decade Team Announced

ALEXANDRIA, LA -- The Louisiana State University of Alexandria athletics department is excited to announce the LSUA Softball All-Decade Team, honoring and celebrating student-athletes from the program's history.
 
LSUA coaches, athletics communication staff, and administration selected the 17-player roster. While not a definitive list of all student-athletes who contributed to the growth and success of the LSUA softball program, these 17 individuals stood out during their time with the Generals.
 
PITCHERS
Marci West earned two NAIA All-American honors from 2015 to 2017 while at LSUA. She was named a Second Team NAIA All-American in 2017 after earning Honorable Mention NAIA All-American honors in 2016. West also earned a pair of First Team All-RRAC selections. She logged 499.0 innings in a Generals' uniform and collected 72 wins. West finished her career with an ERA of 1.56 and 409 strikeouts. All three are LSUA career bests. West hurled 49 complete games and 21 shutouts over three seasons. She also earned a pair of NFCA All-Region Second Team selections.
 
Haley Primrose pitched two seasons at LSUA from 2024 to 2025. In just two seasons, Primrose is fourth in LSUA history in innings pitched (349.0), fifth in starts (51) and earned run average (2.39), third in wins (41) and strikeouts (296). She struck out an LSUA single-season high 181 in 2025. Primrose was an All-RRAC Second Team selection in 2024 and earned All-RRAC First Team honors in 2025. She also earned two RRAC All-Tournament Team selections in both 2024 and 2025. Primrose was named an NFCA All-Region First Team selection in 2025, as well as a Louisiana Sports Writers Association First Team All-Louisiana nod.
 
Megan Rowe pitched from 2008 to 2010 for the Generals. She logged 480.2 innings of work in 87 appearances. Rowe finished with a career ERA of 2.93, 31 wins, and 345 strikeouts. She holds the LSUA record for complete games with 60. In 2009, Rowe threw 251.1 innings – an LSUA single-season record. She earned All-AII First Team honors in 2009.
 
CATCHERS
Raquel Granados played from 2013 to 2016 for LSUA. She finished her career with 211 hits, 116 runs scored, 169 runs batted in, 24 home runs, and a slugging percentage of .604. She is second all-time in LSUA history in hits, doubles, runs scored, runs batted in, and home runs. Granados earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors in 2016. She was named an All-AII First Team selection in 2013 and All-RRAC First Team in both 2015 and 2016. Granados added an NFCA All-Region First Team nod to her accolades in 2016.
 
Madi Baker played a pair of seasons for the Generals in 2024 and 2025. She hit .386 with five home runs, 84 runs batted in, and an on-base percentage of .406. Baker was named the RRAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2025 alongside a First Team All-RRAC selection. She was named an NFCA All-Region First Team player and LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team selection.
 
INFIELDERS
Julinn Torres played at LSUA from 2014 to 2017. She holds the LSUA career records in hits (269), runs (222), doubles (74), runs batted in (244), home runs (38), total bases (483), and walks drawn (110). She is second in slugging percentage (.772) and triples (13). Torres' career average of .430 puts her fourth all-time at LSUA. She is a two-time NAIA First Team All-American. Torres was named the RRAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 and All-RRAC First Team in 2016 and 2017. She earned NFCA All-Region Second Team honors in 2016 and 2017, as well as an LSWA All-Louisiana Honorable Mention nod in 2016. Torres was inducted into the LSUA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.
 
Danelle Billings played the 2017 season for LSUA. She set the single-season home run record with 19. Billings drove in 81 runs, putting her ninth all-time, and the most in a single season. She slugged .895, collected 80 hits, and posted an average of .465. Billings was named a First Team NAIA All-American, First Team All-RRAC selection, RRAC Player of the Year, RRAC Newcomer of the Year, and an NFCA All-Region First Team selection.
 
Emily Nolan played for the Generals in 2015 and 2016. She posted an average of .382 over two seasons with LSUA. Nolan drove in 95 runs, hit 13 home runs, 28 doubles, and slugged .633. She holds the LSUA single-season record for walks drawn with 38 in 2015. Nolan earned NAIA Honorable Mention honors in 2016 and was named to the All-RRAC First Team. She added an NFCA Second Team All-Region nod to her 2016 accolades.
 
Kim Gonzalez played from 2014 to 2017 at LSUA. She recorded 189 hits, 41 doubles, 129 runs scored, 18 triples, 111 runs batted in, and a slugging percentage of .566. Gonzalez holds the LSUA career record for triples, is third in runs, fourth in runs batted in, third in hits, fourth in doubles, and 10th in slugging percentage. She earned a pair of All-RRAC First Team selections in 2016 and 2017. Gonzalez also earned a pair of NFCA All-Region selections and was named to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team in 2016.
 
Haley Fontenot is one of two active players on the LSUA All-Decade Team. She began her playing career at LSUA in 2023. Over her career, Fontenot has collected 180 hits, scored 134 runs, hit 45 doubles, 11 triples, 17 home runs, driven in 77 runs, and posted an average of .459. She is currently second all-time in stolen bases with 66. Fontenot sits fourth in hits, third in doubles, second in runs scored, fourth in triples, 10th in runs batted in, fourth in home runs, second in batting average, fourth in total bases, fourth in slugging percentage, and eighth in at-bats (402). Fontenot holds the LSUA single-season batting average record after hitting .534 on her way to an NAIA First Team All-American selection and RRAC Player of the Year honors. Fontenot has been selected to the All-RRAC First Team in each of her three seasons at LSUA. She was also selected to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team in 2024 and was an LSWA All-Louisiana Honorable Mention in 2025. She earned an NFCA Second Team All-Region nod in 2025.
 
Julia Kwakernaak rounds out the infielders and active Generals on the All-Decade team. In her first season at LSUA, Kwakernaak hit 13 home runs and posted a batting average of .506. She drove in 62 runs and scored 64. Kwakernaak slugged .929 and had an on-base percentage of .565. She earned RRAC Player of the Year honors, was an All-RRAC First Team selection, and an NAIA First Team All-American. Kwakernaak added NFCA First Team All-Region and First Team All-American honors to her accolades as well.
 
OUTFIELDERS
Brooke Thomas played two seasons for the Generals in 2014 and 2015. She compiled a career average of .471 and an on-base percentage of .528 in 91 games. During the 2015 season, Thomas hit .506 and slugged .649.  Thomas collected 140 total hits, 11 doubles, 12 triples, and 41 runs batted in over two seasons. Thomas swiped an LSUA record 67 bases over two seasons, helping guide the Generals to their first two NAIA Softball World Series Appearances. She was named the Association of Independent Institutions' Player of the Year in 2014 and the Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2015.  A two-time NAIA All-America selection, Thomas earned Second Team honors in 2014 and First Team honors in 2015. She was inducted into the LSUA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2025.
 
Miyah Portalis played at LSUA from 2018 to 2021. She posted a career slash line .276/.361/.425 over four seasons with the Generals. Portalis hit over .300 in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons. She finished her career with eight home runs, 66 runs batted in, and 49 runs scored. She was named a First Team All-RRAC selection in 2021.
 
Kennedy Beard played two seasons for LSUA from 2016 to 2017. She hit .389 over her career and scored 58 runs. Beard posted a career on-base percentage of .489. She was an All-RRAC First Team and NFCA First Team All-Region selection in 2017.

Casey Corcoran played four seasons for the Generals from 2013 to 2016. She had a career batting average of .345 and an on-base percentage of .410. Corcoran scored 106 runs, including 52 in 2016. She stole 47 bases and drove in 33 runs. She ranks sixth all-time in LSUA history in runs scored, fourth in stolen bases, and eighth in games played (172).
 
UTILITY
Sloane Laiche played the 2009 season at LSUA. She hit .367 with seven home runs and 29 runs batted in. She held an on-base percentage of .400 and a slugging percentage of .656. Laiche holds the LSUA single-game record for runs batted in with eight against Northwood on February 15, 2009. She also holds the single-game record for doubles with four against Thomas on April 24, 2009. Laiche was named an All-AII First Team selection in 2009.
 
Paulean Gonzalez spent four years with the Generals from 2013 to 2016. She compiled an average of .376, an on-base percentage of .461, and slugged .474. Gonzalez drove in 91 runs, scored 85 times, hit three home runs, and 21 doubles. She is fifth all-time in LSUA history with 161 hits and 10th in career batting average. Gonzalez earned LSWA Second Team All-Louisiana in 2023.
