#2 Softball Faces #3 College of Idaho in NAIA Softball Opening Round

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team takes on two-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan University in their first game of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.

THE GENERALS
LSUA has recorded a 34-16 record in 2026 and enter the Chickasha bracket as the three-seed.
 
As a team, LSUA is hitting .343 on the season with 37 home runs and 361 runs scored. They have registered 182 stolen bases. Kilee Moody is now hitting .401 on the season after going 8-for-16 in the RRAC Softball Championship. She recorded eight RBIs, bringing her season total to 44. The Yotes are 34-20 on the season and enter the Chickasha bracket as the number three-seed.
 
Kina Watts leads the Yotes' offense with an average of .399. He has registered nine home runs and 44 runs batted in. Madelyn Powell leads the Yotes in both home runs (12) and runs batted in (59) while hitting at a clip of .383. College of Idaho is hitting .336 as a team with 16 home runs and 348 runs scored.
 
In the circle, Drew Williams has logged 153.1 innings. She posted a 13-9 record thus far and an ERA of 3.83. Williams has struck out 75 hitters and is holding opponents to an average of .285. Watts and Rylee Smith have handled over 75 innings each in the circle. Watts has registered an ERA of 2.50 over 78.1 innings, while Smith has an ERA of 5.48 over 84.1 innings.
 
THE CHICKASHA BRACKET
The Generals and Yotes join one-seeded University of Science and Arts Oklahoma, four-seeded Morningside (Iowa) and five-seeded Friends (Kan.).
 
LSUA and COI play at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 11, in game two after Morningside and Friends compete in game one at noon. Monday's final game is scheduled for 6:00 PM and features top-seeded USAO against the winner of game one.
 
On Tuesday, the losers of game one and two play at noon before the winners of games two and three at 3:00 PM. Then at 6:00 PM, the winner of game four and loser of game three play.
Wednesday, May 13, play begins at 1:00 PM with the winner game six and loser of game five. Then at 4:00 PM, the winners of games five and seven play for the championship. The if necessary game is scheduled for 1:00 PM on May 14.
