ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team is headed to Chickasha, Oklahoma for the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Rounds.
It is the third consecutive year the Generals have earned a spot into the NAIA postseason. LSUA earned its bid by being named the Red River Athletic Conference Regular Season Champion. The Generals posted a 23-4 record in RRAC play in 2026, winning every conference series.
The Generals nearly swept the RRAC superlative awards for the 2026 season.
Kaetlyn Dunbar was named the RRAC Player of the Year,
Kilee Moody earned Defensive Player of the Year,
Lainee Bailey was named the Co-Pitcher of the Year,
Sophia Romero earned Newcomer of the Year Accolades, and Trent Partridge was named the RRAC Coach of the Year.
LSUA joins one-seed and host University of Science and Arts Oklahoma, three-seed College of Idaho, four-seed Morningside (Iowa), and five-seed Friends (Kan.)
Last season the Generals travelled to Central Methodist University and Fayette, Missouri for the NAIA Opening Rounds. A year prior, they were in Chickasha, Oklahoma at University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
The NAIA Opening Rounds start May 11 and run through May 14. LSUA takes on three-seeded College of Idaho in their opening game.
